This blog is a small attempt at capturing the comings and goings of my life. It is the opinion and thoughts of me and me alone and does not represent the opinions of the Peace Corps or the U.S. government.

Staging

I arrived in Philly all in one piece, on time, and with all my luggage in tow, not much more I could have asked for. Immediately after that I registered and became an official Peace Corps trainee. This was followed with an ice-breaker activity then our first meeting. Basically, we went over introductions, Peace Corps' mission, some safety issues, and an excellent session on anxieties and aspirations. It was nice to know that everyone had some of the same anxieties and that everyone seemed to be heading in a similar direction with their goals. After the meeting we had dinner and a few drinks out in Philly. Starting to get to know my fellow K14ers (Kyrgyzstan Peace Corps group number 14) has been interesting. The group is very diverse. There are people of all ages from all over with all differents kinds of personalities and views on life. Some are well traveled and some have barely traveled. Still, diversity and differences aside it seems like everybody has some common goals, which is most important. Back to meetings, hopefully I'll write one more entry before I leave.
