This blog is a small attempt at capturing the comings and goings of my life. It is the opinion and thoughts of me and me alone and does not represent the opinions of the Peace Corps or the U.S. government.

The big news...

After a few days of checking my mailbox five to six times I finally had a package. It was a rather thick envelope that read "Peace Corps Invitation Kit." Well its finally real, I am going into the Peace Corps and I am going to the Kyrgyz Republic. Its ok, I hadn't heard of it either. I will be there teaching English to high school kids and trying to learn a little Russian. We'll see how that goes, my cyrillic is kind of weak right now... So after three years spent trying to learn Spanish I am now going to be learning an entirely new language and a new alphabet. I was a little sad at first but then I realized its just the next adventure. For all I know I will fall in love with Kyrgyzstan just as quickly as did Latin America. Sure it will take some getting used to, but I am truly excited. So I really do have three months left in this place and them I am gone for the next 27. It sounds scary and most people think I am nuts, but I can't help being excited. I would keep writing but words don't really do just to all the feelings I have about my life for the next two years.
